ADDO Chair
Exemplary craftmanship, developed over 50 years, turns advanced wood joinery techniques into functional interior art pieces. Artisan defines the curved line whilst mastering wood grain interplay and modernised joints, accompanied by a fascinating spectrum of industrial designers and selecting the finest, solid, FSC certified timbers. Artisan is independently imported from the far corners of Europe, in Bosnia, to Australia by Tekstura.
Founded in Denmark (2000), Kyoko Inoda (Japan) and Nils Sveje (Denmark) have developed a harmonious and sensitive approach applied to both the design process and the resulting form and aesthetics, the design language is a mixture of the two cultures as well as their background in industrial design engineering, it is minimalistic but not simplistic, shaped but not ornamented.
Sculptural comfort
Highly sculptural in its form, Addo Chair is a testament to Milano based design studio INODA+SVEJE and their affiliation with Japanese master furniture makers Miyazaki Chair Factory. With its curved backrest sweeping down to a half armrest, before dropping away to create slanted legs, the back half of the chair gives the illusion of being one solid piece, as lines meet and flow around each other in exquisite craftsmanship. Featuring either upholstery or bare timber, the ergonomically sculpted seat marries comfort with style, with the non-upholstered version accentuating the beauty and refinement of the ethically sourced, high quality natural timber.
