For three generations, Silkeborg Uldspinderi's focus has been working with the beauty of Nordic wool and alpaca fibres: from the raw fibres to fine finished products. SU goes back to 1947 when Ludvig Bruun Olsen founded the spinning mill that later formed the basis of the company. Today, a third-generation Olsen sits at the helm, transforming the family business that extends into modern Danish and sustainable design. Alpaca fibres are sourced and woven in Peru, whilst in Lithuania, knowledge and professional competencies with regard to textiles has been developed to reach a high level of international expertise.

Silkeborg is on a sustainability journey. A journey of crafting high-quality products from the finest natural materials while keeping the environment’s interest in mind.

Silkeborg Uldspinderi is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS), which certifies and tracks wool and alpaca fiber from the source to final product. Certified by Control Union CUC-891558.

While embracing sustainability and animal welfare, long-lasting quality will always be the most important factor. The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) requires animal welfare and responsible land management practices to be in the place at the sheep and alpaca farm.

Free Local Delivery

We offer free local delivery on the Northern Beaches of Sydney (Manly to Newport - maximum 20kg per product). For larger pieces we will provide a quotation. Inter state delivery in Australia is available by quotation.
