The Sustainable Design Company

The Sustainable Design Company was founded in 2001 and is the parent company to Heirloom Fibrecraft.

Emerging from a career in construction project management, director Kim Shipton developed a retail and design business, motivated by sustainable design, products and materials.

In 2010, Heirloom Fibrecraft launched environmental textiles that were hand produced after design, research and development of natural dyeing techniques.

Today, the business offers interior design consultancy in addition to importing a curated collection of fine furniture and handcrafted brands, available from our retail premises in Mona Vale, Sydney.
